A Radiation Therapist with 3-4 years of experience is needed to provide expert care using Varian Truebeam Linear Accelerators in a fast-paced oncology department. This contract position is located in Gastonia, NC, with patients treated at a nearby 337-bed facility known for comprehensive cardiac and stroke services. The role focuses on inpatient and outpatient cancer radiation therapies, serving approximately 70+ patients daily with a strong emphasis on teamwork and advanced technology.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administering precise radiation treatments to diverse cancer patient populations.
  • Operating Varian Truebeam Linear Accelerators efficiently and safely.
  • Collaborating with oncologists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Documenting treatments using EPIC/Aria EMR systems, with familiarity preferred.
  • Providing comfortable and compassionate patient support in a high-tempo environment.
  • Floating to sister facilities within a one-hour travel radius as needed.

Qualifications:

  • ARRT-TS certification required.
  • Current BLS certification mandatory.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of Radiation Therapist experience.
  • Proficient in use of Varian Truebeam Linear Accelerators.
  • Comfortable treating an inpatient-heavy population.
  • Familiarity with Aria clinical scheduling/documentation systems preferred.
