Qualifications:
- Registered or certified Radiation Therapist
- Valid, current Radiation Therapy license as required by state regulations
- Completion of accredited Radiation Therapy technology program
- Proven experience operating linear accelerators and related equipment
- Detailed knowledge of radiation safety policies and dosimetry
- Strong communication skills for patient interaction, education, and support
- Ability to collaborate with physicians, dosimetrists, and other care team members
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification recommended
Responsibilities:
- Administer accurate, physician-prescribed radiation treatments to oncology patients
- Review and interpret treatment plans, verifying doses and positioning
- Ensure strict compliance with quality assurance, radiation safety, and infection control protocols
- Monitor patient responses throughout the course of treatment, reporting concerns to physicians and clinical staff
- Document treatments and maintain thorough records in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
- Provide clear explanations and emotional support to patients and families, addressing questions and concerns
- Participate in continuing education and equipment training as necessary
