A dedicated Radiation Oncology department seeks a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to provide per diem coverage. As a valued member of our care team, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through their treatment journeys, stepping in during staff vacations, leaves of absence, staffing fluctuations, and increased patient volume. This is a per diem (PRN) opportunity—hours are not guaranteed and scheduling will vary based on departmental needs. New graduates are welcome and mentorship is available.
Schedule

- On-call and scheduled as needed

- Requires flexibility to provide coverage for staffing shortages, vacations, leaves, and variable patient volume
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
- Current California Radiation Therapist license or eligibility to obtain by start date
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy [RT(T)] or eligibility to obtain
- Current BLS certification or ability to secure upon hire
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules Preferred: Familiarity with Varian and/or Accuray treatment systems; prior clinical experience in a radiation oncology environment
Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and safe radiation treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist
- Operate and maintain Varian Linear Accelerators and Accuray Radiation Therapy Systems
- Verify patient identity and treatment parameters for each session
- Observe patients during procedures and respond appropriately to concerns or changes
- Maintain accurate documentation of all treatments and activities
- Collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary oncology team to ensure high standards of care
- Follow all safety and regulatory guidelines for radiation therapy
- Participate in departmental quality assurance and continuing education activities
