Radiation Therapist - San Luis Obispo, California

Key Qualifications:

• Valid and current certification as a Radiation Therapist (ARRT or equivalent)
• Proven experience operating linear accelerators and simulation equipment
• Thorough understanding of radiation safety procedures and quality assurance protocols
• Strong communication and patient-care skills
• Ability to accurately interpret and execute physician treatment plans
• Commitment to maintaining compliance with regulatory standards
• CPR/BLS certification required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed doses of radiation to patients as directed by clinical protocols and physician instructions
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for daily procedures
• Monitor patient responses and document treatment details in electronic medical records
• Provide education, support, and reassurance to patients and their families throughout the treatment process
• Collaborate with physicians, physicists, and dosimetrists to optimize treatment planning and delivery
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines
• Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives as needed
