Role Responsibilities

• Review patient prescriptions to determine required treatment and review history of prior radiation therapy.
• Safely position patients using appropriate immobilization devices and accessories as prescribed.
• Operate sophisticated equipment (linear accelerator, HDR) with precision.
• Administer ionizing radiation per physician orders and verify prescription accuracy before and after treatment.
• Document treatments thoroughly in patient charts and ensure ongoing imaging per department policies.
• Coordinate appointment times, assist patients with transportation and refer to social worker as needed.
• Refer patients to nursing or physician staff for any condition requiring further evaluation.
• Rotate through treatment areas and participate in simulation procedures as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness and supply levels in therapy rooms.
• Adhere to stringent quality assurance policies (chart checks, timeouts, machine warm-up).
• Support the education of radiation therapy students.

Qualifications

• ARRT certified in Radiation Therapy (or eligible)
• Current state licensure (or ability to obtain)
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety and oncology practices
• Excellent patient care and communication skills
• Capacity to work collaboratively within a team setting
