Radiation Therapist - Rockford, Illinois

As an experienced Radiation Therapist, you'll play a vital role in a busy cancer center providing compassionate and precise patient care. This contract opportunity involves working with advanced technology to deliver high-quality radiation therapy for a diverse patient population, averaging 64-68 cases per day across two linear accelerators: Varian TrueBeam and Varian EDGE. Adaptability and strong multitasking skills are essential, as you will work independently within a collaborative care team.

Schedule & Hours

• 13-week contract
• Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 5:30pm
• Flexible hours based on patient volumes

Key Qualifications

• Valid IL Radiation Therapy license (must be in hand at submission)
• ARRT and IEMA certifications in Radiation Therapy required
• Proven experience in mid-to-large hospital settings
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-volume treatment environment
• Expertise using ARIA record and verify system; upcoming upgrade to v18.1 at the end of the month
• No local candidates (must reside at least 60 miles from facility)

Primary Responsibilities

• Administer safe, accurate external beam radiation therapy treatments
• Operate and maintain two sophisticated linear accelerators (Varian TrueBeam, Varian EDGE)
• Ensure precision in treatment delivery by adhering to physician-prescribed plans
• Accurately document patient treatments using ARIA software
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, physicists, and dosimetrists for optimal patient care
• Consistently uphold high standards of patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality
