As a Radiation Therapist, your expertise will directly support patient care and therapeutic outcomes in a collaborative oncology setting.
Schedule/Hours:
- Typical clinic hours, with coverage needed on weekdays
- Guaranteed hours exclude closure days for holidays
Qualifications:
- Current certification in Radiation Therapy from the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Valid IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) Radiation credential
- Proven experience working in mid- to large-sized hospitals or cancer centers
- Familiarity with Varian Edge/Aria systems highly preferred
- Ability to manage high daily patient volumes independently and effectively multitask
- Strong organizational and communication skills required
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed radiation treatments with precision, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times
- Operate Varian Edge/Aria treatment units, accurately following clinical protocols
- Collaborate closely with physicians, dosimetrists, and oncology nurses to support integrated patient care
- Maintain meticulous treatment records and patient documentation
- Educate patients and families on procedures and address questions to alleviate concerns
- Troubleshoot and report any technical issues with equipment or workflow efficiently
- Uphold all safety procedures and regulatory compliance standards
