Key Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Active MN RN license or MN Temp Permit-RN
- Current BLS certification required
- PEARS or PALS certification
- Completed Pediatric Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Course through APHON or equivalent within the last 5 years
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with pediatric hematology/oncology patients
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients before, during, and after chemotherapy or infusion therapies
- Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications with precision and safety
- Vigilantly monitor for side effects or adverse reactions, intervening appropriately
- Safely manage central lines including ports and PICCs
- Provide comfort measures and manage symptoms such as pain, nausea, and fatigue
- Educate families and patients about treatment plans, side effects, and home-care management
- Deliver emotional support to children and their caregivers during challenging treatments
- Collaborate closely with oncologists and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner, ensuring compliance and quality of care
