Radiation Therapist | Winchester, Virginia

This contract position offers the opportunity to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to cancer patients, working with advanced technologies including Truebeam and Halcyon, as well as the Aria Record/Verify system.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5x8hr shifts)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver precise radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the radiation oncologist, ensuring safety and accuracy throughout each session.
• Interpret physician instructions and accurately implement treatment plans.
• Perform simulations and assist with treatment planning, including tumor localization and dosimetry.
• Provide support and instruction to radiation therapy students as needed.
• Participate and assist during Brachytherapy procedures, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
• Triage patients with acute symptoms and collaborate with nursing staff for further evaluation and care.
• Consistently document treatment delivery and maintain accurate patient records within Aria for Record/Verify.
• Maintain and ensure the safe use of Truebeam and Halcyon equipment.

Qualifications:

• Current Virginia Radiation Therapist License required—must be secured prior to submission.
• Demonstrated experience as a Radiation Therapist, preferably in settings using Truebeam, Halcyon, and Aria systems.
• Strong clinical knowledge of both conventional external beam therapy and Brachytherapy procedures.
• Ability to collaborate well with multidisciplinary teams and educate students when needed.
• Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and commitment to patient-centered care.
