Radiation Therapist | Winchester, Virginia

Step into a vital clinical role providing precision care to cancer patients as part of a collaborative healthcare team. This contract opportunity seeks skilled professionals with expertise in radiation therapy, specifically using Truebeam and Halcyon equipment and the Aria record/verify system.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (5x8’s)

Key qualifications:

• Current Virginia Radiation Therapist license (must be active at time of application)
• Proficient in the operation of Truebeam and Halcyon radiation delivery systems
• Prior experience with Aria record/verify system strongly preferred
• Solid foundation in delivering and interpreting radiation treatments as prescribed by a radiation oncologist
• Ability to assist with Brachytherapy procedures and treatment planning, including tumor localization and dosimetry
• Capable of triaging patients who require further clinical evaluation by nursing staff
• Commitment to patient safety, compassionate care, and attention to treatment accuracy
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and mentoring skills, especially when working with or instructing radiation therapy students

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide daily customized radiation care for oncology patients following established protocols
• Deliver radiation treatments with precision, ensuring compliance with physician orders and safety standards
• Perform treatment simulations as required and support Brachytherapy procedures
• Collaborate with physicians and dosimetry staff in planning procedures
• Document and manage patient data accurately using Aria
• Assist in clinical instruction for students and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Monitor and quickly address any patient reactions and refer to nursing when appropriate

$2,299 - $2,432/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
