Provide comprehensive cardiopulmonary care to patients of all ages as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a rewarding contract position in Akiachak, Alaska. Responsibilities:

  • Administer respiratory treatments and interventions including airway management, ventilator operation, and chest physiotherapy
  • Perform ABG procurement and analysis; monitor patient oxygenation and ventilation status
  • Intubation assistance and CPR support as required
  • Accurately document all respiratory therapies and patient responses
  • Interpret and follow physicians’ orders and hospital policies
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory treatment techniques and purposes
  • Collaborate with healthcare team to optimize patient care plans
  • Utilize specialized equipment such as ventilators, pulse oximeters, nebulizers, and blood gas analyzers
  • Maintain compliance with respiratory therapy standards and safety protocols

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an AMA accredited Respiratory Therapy program or equivalent with an AS Degree
  • Minimum one year of clinical experience in hospital respiratory patient care
  • Current credentials from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) as CRTT, CRT, RT, or RRT
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) encouraged
  • Strong skills in reading/interpreting physician orders, technical manuals, and policy documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff
  • Proficient with respiratory therapy equipment and cardiopulmonary testing procedures

Additional Requirements:

  • Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations is required for all travelers
