Schedule:

  • Night shifts: 6:30pm–7:00am
  • One full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) per schedule

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver medication and advanced respiratory care in complex and critical care situations, employing your expertise in ventilator management and independent clinical decision-making.
  • Perform high-level patient assessments and implement protocols for ventilator weaning, bronchial hygiene, and airway management—including intubation, extubation, and trach tube care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals in planning and coordinating comprehensive care, performing arterial blood gas sampling, and supporting both invasive and non-invasive procedures as required.
  • Engage in patient and family education, mentor new employees and students, and actively participate in staff development and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure safe, accurate documentation and compliance with patient safety and quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) and Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) credentials required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (with any provisional allowed within 180 days of hire)
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred
  • Minimum 6 months of critical care experience; clinical experience in emergency or pediatric settings required
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, computer, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with patients, families, and staff
