Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Valid state licensure for respiratory therapy
  • Experience delivering respiratory care in a hospital environment, preferably acute care
  • Proficient in aerosol therapy, oxygen administration, airway management, and ventilator care
  • Ability to assess, plan, and implement therapy for patients of varying acuity levels
  • Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills
  • Adaptable, reliable, and skilled in both independent and team-based work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures, including mechanical ventilation, nebulizer treatments, and pulmonary function testing
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to develop and modify patient care plans
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy, document interventions, and adjust treatments as indicated by protocol or patient status
  • Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and post-treatment expectations
  • Maintain equipment, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and functionality
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, assisting with airway management and resuscitation as needed
