What You'll Need:
- Active credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the NBRC
- Valid state respiratory care practitioner license (or eligibility)
- Proven experience delivering respiratory therapy in acute care or hospital settings
- Strong clinical knowledge of respiratory modalities, equipment (ventilators, oxygen therapy, nebulizers), and patient assessment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Adaptability to fast-paced clinical scenarios and shifting patient needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with pulmonary disorders
- Administer treatments such as bronchopulmonary drainage, ventilator support, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications
- Monitor and document patients’ progress and adapt therapy as needed in consultation with physicians
- Provide patient and family education regarding respiratory conditions, equipment usage, and home care instructions
- Ensure safe, accurate operation and maintenance of respiratory equipment
- Actively participate in emergency response situations, including rapid response and code teams
