An experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is needed for a contract opportunity providing essential care in an adult critical care setting. This position plays a crucial role in supporting patients with advanced respiratory needs through the use of specialized equipment and collaborative care teams.
Schedule:
- 3 x 12-hour night shifts per week
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (mandatory)
- Strong clinical background in adult critical care respiratory therapy
- Previous experience working with Hamilton ventilators preferred
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system is an advantage
- Current BLS certification required
- Ability to work nights and effectively manage high-acuity situations
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, evidence-based respiratory therapy interventions to adult critical care patients
- Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and associated respiratory equipment, with a focus on Hamilton models
- Accurately document patient care activities and progress using the EPIC electronic health record system
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams—including physicians and nurses—to optimize patient outcomes
- Monitor patients’ respiratory status and provide timely updates to supervising clinicians
- Adhere to all facility protocols, infection control policies, and best practice guidelines
