This contract opportunity places you on the resource team of a teaching hospital known for its comprehensive pediatric and critical care services.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract position; details on shift schedule will be discussed during the hiring process
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- At least 2 years of recent experience as a respiratory therapist (resource team preferred)
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentials
- Active North Carolina license required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (Resource Team requirements)
- Proficiency with IPPV/NIPPV ventilators
- Comfortable providing care in a range of units: Emergency Department, PICU, Peds CVICU, Peds PCU, and general medical floors
- Experience with EPIC EMR is a plus
- Open to first-time travelers
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to neonates, pediatric, and adult patients as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and departmental respiratory leadership
- Utilize advanced ventilatory support equipment to achieve best outcomes
- Adapt to float across various departments, responding to patient acuity and census
- Complete required facility and departmental orientation, including NEO and two days of specific training
