Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Valid, unencumbered state license as required by assignment
- Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting
- Strong skills in assessment, diagnostic testing, and respiratory interventions
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform and interpret advanced diagnostic procedures and obtain arterial blood gases
- Oversee respiratory equipment operation for optimal patient care
- Initiate and monitor respiratory protocols and interventions based on assessment findings
- Safely administer medications and monitor patient response
- Communicate ongoing patient status and recommendations to interdisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care and self-management strategies
- Complete accurate, timely documentation and productivity reporting
- Participate actively in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
- Mentor CRT staff and participate in departmental improvement projects
- Support department needs through possible floating or on-call assignment
