As a Registered Respiratory Therapist working in inpatient and emergency department settings, you’ll gain invaluable exposure to a diverse range of clinical situations, from adult ICU and trauma care to supporting pediatric patients in emergent scenarios. Schedule/Hours
- 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
- Day shifts: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Night shifts: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every third weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- Minimal on-call (volunteers accepted), 1-hour response if needed
Qualifications
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- State of Wisconsin RT license (processing time: 6–8 weeks)
- Valid ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of RT experience
- Critical care experience in a Level 2 or 3 trauma setting
- Comfortable assisting with intubations and placing airway adjuncts in emergencies
- Experience working with all age groups (adults and pediatrics)
- Accepts first-time travelers and duos
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ABGs and CBGs in ICU; occasional EKG support overnight
- Deliver advanced respiratory care in intensive and emergency environments
- Collaborate with an on-site team, including physicians, supervisors, and other RTs
- Use advanced respiratory equipment (Servo, Hamilton, Bipap/CPAP, Vapotherm, INOmax, Oscillators)
- Participate in staff orientation and professional development sessions
