Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Active certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Valid respiratory care practitioner license (Louisiana or eligible for reciprocity)
  • Minimum of one year of experience in an acute care or hospital setting
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, and apply appropriate therapy interventions
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently in fast-paced situations

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver respiratory care, including ventilator management, oxygen therapy, inhalation treatments, airway management, and arterial blood gas analysis
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to formulate and implement individualized care plans
  • Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to therapies based on changing clinical needs
  • Provide patient and family education regarding respiratory treatments and self-care strategies
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards
  • Ensure all equipment and procedures adhere to current infection control guidelines and industry best practices
