As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you’ll gain exposure to critical care environments and diverse patient populations, expanding your expertise in ventilator management, emergency intervention, and collaborative care. Schedule:
- Nights, 6:30pm-7:00am
- 1 weekend (Saturday and Sunday) per schedule
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (NBRC)
- State Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (or provisional, based on specified timelines)
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor’s preferred)
- Minimum 6 months of critical care experience; clinical experience in emergency, pediatric, and/or critical care settings required
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and assessment skills
- Computer proficiency and ability to work well within multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and respiratory therapies according to established protocols
- Perform thorough patient assessments and collaborate in care planning
- Independently manage ventilators, initiate and interpret wave form graphics, and oversee airway management (intubation, extubation, tracheostomy care)
- Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analysis
- Educate patients, families, and mentor peers and new staff
- Support and participate in quality improvement initiatives
