Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Respiratory Therapy license.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
  • Experience in a Level 4 NICU, with proficiency in neonatal and pediatric respiratory therapy.
  • Proven ability to provide care for cardiac transplant patients, including familiarity with post-transplant protocols.
  • Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP certification highly preferred.
  • Experience with advanced ventilator management, ECMO, and high-frequency ventilation technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients, emphasizing those in the Level 4 NICU and post-cardiac transplant.
  • Monitor, assess, and document the patient’s respiratory status, collaborating with medical and nursing staff to adjust care plans as needed.
  • Operate and maintain advanced respiratory equipment, including ventilators and ECMO devices.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, providing vital input regarding respiratory management.
  • Educate patients’ families on respiratory conditions and care, ensuring a supportive environment.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and meets regulatory compliance standards.
  • Maintain a high level of responsiveness in emergent situations.
