Key Qualifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (per state requirements)
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Proven experience in acute or rehab care settings preferred
- Skill with invasive/non-invasive ventilatory equipment
- Ability to perform advanced airway management, chest physiotherapy, and diagnostic testing
- Competency in tracheostomy and endotracheal tube care
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver intensive respiratory therapy and patient transport as prescribed
- Educate patients on equipment, treatment procedures, and discharge plans
- Administer medications and therapies using oxygen, aerosol, and ventilatory devices
- Conduct chest physiotherapy, suctioning, and various monitoring (oximetry, capnography, EKG)
- Document all procedures, patient responses, and hand-offs according to facility protocols
- Collaborate actively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for optimized patient outcomes
- Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and participate in lab testing practices
