Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Active, unencumbered respiratory license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Previous experience in critical care or rehab setting preferred
- Proficiency in ventilatory equipment, oxygen/aerosol devices, and advanced airway management techniques
- Strong communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver intensive respiratory care, patient assessment, and transport with minimal supervision
- Educate patients on the purpose, process, and outcomes of treatments and upon discharge
- Operate invasive/non-invasive ventilatory and oxygen delivery equipment as prescribed
- Conduct nebulization, chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry/capnography monitoring, and pulmonary function studies
- Perform 12-lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, and arterial punctures
- Support procedures such as bronchoscopies, chest tube placements, tracheostomy care, and endotracheal intubations
- Review chest x-rays and document findings; maintain accurate patient and therapy records
- Collaborate in physician communication, interdisciplinary handoffs, and shift rounds
- Ensure proper mechanical ventilator setup, maintenance, and performance checks
