In this role, you will expand your clinical expertise through hands-on experience with intensive respiratory care, patient transport, and advanced therapeutic procedures. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver intensive respiratory care and facilitate patient transport into/out of the facility.
- Assess patients, develop and recommend individualized treatment plans.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding treatments, equipment, and home care.
- Administer physician-ordered therapies using ventilators, oxygen, and nebulizer devices (both invasive and non-invasive).
- Conduct chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, and capnography monitoring.
- Analyze chest x-rays and perform 12-Lead EKG with basic arrhythmia recognition.
- Perform pulmonary function studies, support procedures such as bronchoscopy/trach placement, and manage chest drainage devices.
- Perform arterial punctures, tracheostomy care (insertion/removal), and endotracheal intubation.
- Accurately document care, communicate findings, and participate in effective hand-off reporting during rounds.
- Adhere to laboratory protocols, including equipment use, quality controls, and specimen handling.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Licensure to practice in Ohio.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Experience with ventilatory equipment, respiratory procedures, and patient education.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
