Advance your respiratory care expertise in a supportive and dynamic clinical setting within a critical illness and rehabilitation facility. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you'll play a crucial role in the delivery of intensive care and patient transport, evaluating patients and designing treatment plans under minimal supervision.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract position; details regarding shift distribution provided upon interview

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
  • Valid professional respiratory care license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Previous experience with intensive respiratory care strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and educate patients and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide thorough patient evaluations and recommend individualized respiratory therapy plans
  • Administer physician-prescribed respiratory treatments and operate ventilatory, oxygen, and aerosol delivery systems
  • Educate patients and families on treatment processes and ensure understanding during discharge
  • Perform chest physiotherapy, airway suctioning, oximetry, capnography, and monitor ventilatory status
  • Review chest x-rays, perform EKGs, recognize basic arrhythmias, and conduct pulmonary function studies
  • Assist with respiratory procedures such as bronchoscopies, tracheostomy care, and chest tube placements
  • Manage arterial punctures and interpret test results, following all lab policies and testing protocols
  • Perform CPR and manage intubations according to the latest clinical standards
  • Maintain and monitor ventilatory equipment, ensuring functionality and timely maintenance
  • Document treatments, patient responses, and shift handoffs accurately in patient records
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring timely and precise communication
