Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, intensive respiratory care and patient transport within licensure scope with minimal supervision.
  • Evaluate patient conditions and recommend individual treatment plans.
  • Clearly explain treatment purposes, procedures, and equipment to patients; provide thorough education at discharge.
  • Perform physician-prescribed treatments, manage ventilator equipment (invasive/non-invasive), operate oxygen/aerosol/nebulizer devices.
  • Conduct chest physiotherapy, various suctioning methods, and oximetry/capnography monitoring.
  • Review chest x-rays, perform 12-Lead EKGs, recognize basic arrhythmias, and conduct pulmonary function studies.
  • Assist with bronchoscopy, tracheostomy care, chest tube placement, and pleural drainage procedures.
  • Perform arterial punctures, assess ventilation efficiency, and document/communicate results effectively.
  • Comply with all laboratory testing protocols where applicable.
  • Execute BLS and ACLS guidelines during cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Set up and maintain ventilatory equipment; assist with troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Accurately chart therapy data and support strong communication and shift hand-offs.
  • Ensure complete and correct therapy charging and perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
  • Previous experience in critical care/rehab settings preferred.
  • Proficiency with ventilator systems and respiratory care technology.
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and patient communication skills.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
