Make an immediate impact in a Level 2 Special Care Nursery by utilizing your expertise as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work with a dedicated neonatal care team, supporting some of the most vulnerable patients while advancing your clinical skills in a supportive environment.
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time, contract-based
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Proficiency in neonatal care, including all aspects of respiratory therapy for newborns
- Prior experience in Level 2 Special Care Nursery or similar setting strongly preferred
- Current NRP certification
- Comprehensive knowledge of medication delivery via aerosol, MDI, DPI, and manual ventilation
- Familiarity with high-risk deliveries and surfactant administration required
Essential Responsibilities:
- Administer medicated aerosol therapy and manage small volume nebulizer treatments to neonatal patients
- Educate patients and parents on therapy techniques involving aerosol, MDI, and DPI
- Operate medication carts, Omnicell systems, and ensure accurate barcoding and medication administration
- Provide advanced airway management, including suctioning, manual ventilation, intubation assistance, and T-piece ventilation
- Implement NRP protocol in both routine and high-risk deliveries
- Perform blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation
- Manage humidified therapy, heated humidity, aerosol masks, and oxygen delivery devices (including nasal cannula and masks)
- Collaborate closely with the care team to support the highest level of neonatal respiratory function
