Position Highlights:
- Deliver advanced-level respiratory care tailored to each patient’s needs, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, and management of cardiopulmonary deficiencies
- Act as a knowledgeable resource to CRT staff and a mentor to peers within the department
- Perform and interpret diagnostic testing procedures, including arterial blood gases, and initiate interventions per protocol
- Administer respiratory medications safely and assess their effectiveness
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, patients, and families, making care recommendations and ensuring seamless care coordination
- Educate patients and families on disease management and self-care techniques
- Accurately document care provided and monitor the condition of equipment and supplies
- Collaborate in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, always seeking opportunities for better patient outcomes
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute feedback and ideas to enhance respiratory care services
- May occasionally float to other departments or be placed on-call as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials
- License to practice as required in Colorado (or eligibility for reciprocity)
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to mentor and educate others
