As a Registered Respiratory Therapist specializing in critical illness and rehabilitation, you’ll expand your expertise through exposure to diverse clinical settings and collaborative leadership styles. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care and facilitate patient transport.
- Evaluate patients, recommend tailored treatment plans, and provide patient education, especially at discharge.
- Administer physician-prescribed therapies, including invasive/non-invasive ventilatory support, oxygen and aerosol treatments, and nebulized medications.
- Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal).
- Conduct oximetry, capnography monitoring, chest x-ray review, and 12-lead EKGs.
- Perform pulmonary function studies, tracheostomy care, and arterial punctures.
- Assist during respiratory procedures such as bronchoscopies and chest tube placements.
- Maintain accurate and timely respiratory therapy documentation, participate in shift handoffs, and communicate effectively with physicians.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials and state licensure.
- Experience with ventilatory equipment, oxygen devices, and respiratory care procedures.
- Competence in 12-lead EKG, arrhythmia recognition, pulmonary function testing, and ACLS/BLS certified.
- Prior experience in critical illness and rehabilitation settings is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
