This travel assignment for a Registered Respiratory Therapist allows you to broaden your scope of practice, learning advanced respiratory care techniques and collaborating with expert leadership. Schedule/Hours:

  • Travel-based, adaptable to facility needs

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver intensive respiratory care and support patient transport in accordance with medical prescription and licensure.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment procedures, equipment use, and home care at discharge.
  • Administer routine and acute respiratory treatments, operate both invasive/non-invasive ventilatory equipment, and manage oxygen/aerosol/nebulizer devices.
  • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal), and oximetry/capnography monitoring.
  • Interpret chest x-rays for further evaluation; conduct 12-Lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function studies.
  • Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care—including insertion, removal, and emergent interventions.
  • Perform arterial puncture and comprehensively manage test procedures and documentation across all lab phases.
  • Respond to cardiopulmonary emergencies (BLS/ACLS guidelines), and handle airway management including endotracheal tube placement.
  • Maintain and monitor ventilatory equipment; ensure accurate charting, communication, and respiratory therapy charging.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential with valid state licensure.
  • Strong proficiency with ventilatory support, respiratory diagnostics, and emergency airway management.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic clinical environment.
