Deliver exceptional care to patients recovering from critical illness as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a dynamic clinical setting. This contract opportunity focuses on providing intensive respiratory support and patient transport, with a strong emphasis on delivering evidence-based treatment plans while fostering clear patient education. You’ll work autonomously within your professional licensing scope and contribute to multidisciplinary care for complex cases.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Experience in acute and/or rehabilitation settings strongly preferred
  • ACLS and BLS certification required
  • Proficiency in operating both invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment
  • Skilled in chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal), and airway management
  • Ability to perform EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function testing
  • Competence with arterial puncture, tracheostomy care, and endotracheal tube management
  • Strong communication and patient education skills

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients and recommend respiratory treatment plans
  • Administer physician-prescribed treatments using oxygen, aerosol, and nebulizer devices
  • Educate patients and families on treatments and discharge instructions
  • Monitor patients with oximetry and capnography; review chest x-rays as needed
  • Support physicians during bronchoscopy, tracheostomy, and chest tube procedures
  • Provide chest drainage and tracheostomy care following facility protocol
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS/ACLS guidelines
  • Complete laboratory specimen handling and documentation in accordance with policy
  • Maintain accurate, timely records of respiratory interventions and patient responses
  • Communicate therapy efficacy to attending and pulmonary physicians, ensuring detailed shift reports
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventative repairs
