This contract position focuses on high-acuity patient care, including support for Level 4 NICU and cardiac transplant patients. Your expertise will directly contribute to positive outcomes for critically ill newborns and children requiring complex respiratory interventions.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract position; specific schedule details provided upon interview

Qualifications:

  • Valid and active credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Previous experience in NICU, preferably Level 4, strongly recommended
  • Demonstrated competency in caring for cardiac transplant patients or pediatric cardiac conditions
  • In-depth knowledge of advanced neonatal and pediatric respiratory therapies, including ventilator management and oxygen therapy
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Current BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients, collaborating directly with nursing, medical, and surgical teams
  • Assess, monitor, and document patient respiratory status and treatment responses for critically ill infants and children, including those post-transplant
  • Manage and operate advanced respiratory equipment such as high-frequency ventilators and ECMO when indicated
  • Participate in rapid response and code situations, providing life-saving ventilatory support
  • Educate families and caregivers on respiratory care procedures as appropriate
  • Maintain strict adherence to hospital protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards
