This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in an adult ICU environment, utilizing advanced ventilator systems and the latest in electronic health record technology.
Schedule:
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week
Key Qualifications:
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Experience in adult critical care settings strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Hamilton ventilators desired
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting beneficial
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized respiratory care to adult patients within intensive care units
- Initiate, manage, and monitor mechanical ventilation, adjusting settings per physician orders and patient condition
- Assess patient status, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and respond to emergent respiratory needs
- Document all interventions accurately using the EPIC health record system
- Educate patients and families about respiratory therapies as necessary
- Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols
