Seeking an experienced registered respiratory therapist to provide critical care coverage on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in an adult ICU environment, utilizing advanced ventilator systems and the latest in electronic health record technology.

Schedule:

  • Three 12-hour night shifts per week

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
  • Experience in adult critical care settings strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Hamilton ventilators desired
  • Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting beneficial
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized respiratory care to adult patients within intensive care units
  • Initiate, manage, and monitor mechanical ventilation, adjusting settings per physician orders and patient condition
  • Assess patient status, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and respond to emergent respiratory needs
  • Document all interventions accurately using the EPIC health record system
  • Educate patients and families about respiratory therapies as necessary
  • Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols
