This opportunity centers on providing critical respiratory care in a dynamic adult hospital environment. The primary clinical focus includes ICU, progressive care, emergency department, and general inpatient floor therapy. The role emphasizes delivering high standards of patient care in acute settings and requires skilled professionals confident in their clinical expertise.
Schedule/Hours:
- Night shifts: 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- No block scheduling
- Holiday coverage as needed
Key Qualifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credentialed by NBRC
- Active NY state license
- Valid ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience
- For non-U.S. trained candidates, at least 2 years of U.S. work experience is required
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility
- Demonstrated competency in critical care respiratory therapy
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer advanced respiratory therapies to acutely ill adult patients
- Collaborate consistently with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams
- Perform patient assessments, implement care plans, and monitor treatment efficacy
- Deliver bedside care in high-acuity areas, including ventilator management and emergency interventions
- Document thoroughly according to hospital protocols and regulatory standards
- Respond promptly to emergent respiratory needs, upholding patient safety and exemplary care
