Advance your career as a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist supporting a leading neonatal intensive care team. This specialized assignment focuses on neonatal and pediatric transport within a busy NICU setting, utilizing cutting-edge Hamilton vent/Cross Vent and TXP equipment.
Schedule:
- 2–3 shifts per week
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Valid RRT or CRT credential, active NRP and PALS certifications (STABLE preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in neonatal intensive care with strong focus on NICU transport
- Demonstrated competency in neonatal airway and ventilation management, including mask ventilation, airway stabilization, and use of various ventilators (conventional, HFOV, CPAP/NIV, HFNC)
- In-depth understanding of transport physiology, isolette systems, equipment operation and troubleshooting, and oxygen management
- Proven ability to manage critical neonatal conditions such as RDS, MAS, PPHN, BPD, sepsis, thermoregulation, and provide advanced hemodynamic support
- High proficiency in written and verbal communication, team-based handoffs, and coordination across multiple care environments
- NRP skills and crisis management experience, including infection control practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform safe and effective neonatal/pediatric transports, ensuring patient stabilization and optimal ventilator management
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced transport equipment; manage power/gas restraints and document all clinical events and interventions thoroughly
- Support clinical procedures such as bag-mask ventilation, securing advanced airways, assisting with PIV/UVC line placements, and point-of-care testing
- Participate actively in safety protocols, EMS integration, and emergency situations during transport
