Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver intensive respiratory care and transport patients safely in and out of the facility.
• Evaluate patients and recommend individualized respiratory treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding therapies, tests, and equipment, including discharge instructions.
• Administer routine and complex respiratory treatments using a range of ventilatory and aerosol devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy, secretion clearance, suctioning, oximetry, and capnography monitoring.
• Conduct routine chest x-ray reviews, 12-lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with specialized procedures (e.g., bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, pleural drainage, tracheostomy care).
• Perform arterial punctures, analyze test results, and maintain thorough documentation.
• Operate and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment as required.
• Ensure effective shift-to-shift communication and accurate respiratory therapy charges.
• Adhere to hospital policies regarding laboratory testing, reporting, equipment maintenance, and emergency resuscitation.
• Contribute flexibly with other assigned duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
• Experience in critical care or rehab settings is highly valued.
• Proficiency with ventilatory equipment, respiratory procedures, and emergency response protocols.
• Strong communication and education skills.
