Make a meaningful impact by delivering specialized respiratory care within an advanced critical illness and rehabilitation environment. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating safe patient transport into and out of the facility, always operating within the full scope of your professional expertise and with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients and develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans
  • Educate patients and families about treatments, equipment, and post-discharge care
  • Administer physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using invasive and non-invasive equipment, oxygen, aerosol devices, and nebulizers
  • Perform chest physiotherapy, secretion clearance, and suctioning via various methods
  • Utilize monitoring technology such as oximetry and capnography, as well as review patient chest x-rays for ongoing assessment
  • Conduct 12-Lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function studies
  • Assist with a range of respiratory care procedures including bronchoscopy, tracheostomy management, and chest tube placement
  • Conduct arterial punctures, document and report ventilation efficiency, and monitor laboratory testing requirements
  • Maintain and operate ventilatory equipment, ensure preventative maintenance and rapid repair as necessary
  • Accurately record treatments, patient responses, and communicate critical information during shift handoffs
  • Follow protocols for safety, lab testing, and therapy documentation

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist as required
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Experience in critical care, rehabilitation, or similar acute care settings preferred
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
