Desired Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Current licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills
• Previous experience in acute/critical care or rehabilitation settings preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver intensive respiratory care and facilitate patient transport, operating within established protocols
• Assess patients and create individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and home care instructions upon discharge
• Administer physician-prescribed treatments, utilizing ventilatory equipment, oxygen/aerosol devices, and nebulizers
• Perform chest physiotherapy, various types of patient suctioning, and monitoring (oximetry, capnography)
• Conduct procedures such as 12-lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function studies
• Assist with bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and emergency tracheostomy procedures
• Document therapy and patient status accurately, ensuring continuity of care between shifts
