Schedule/Hours:

• Travel position with flexible assignment durations

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver intensive respiratory care—including patient transport—per medical prescription and professional licensing requirements with minimal supervision
• Evaluate patients and design effective treatment plans; educate on therapies and at-home care at discharge
• Administer physician-ordered treatments using ventilatory equipment (invasive/non-invasive), oxygen/aerosol devices, and nebulizers
• Provide chest physiotherapy, perform suctioning, and conduct oximetry/capnography monitoring
• Review chest x-rays and recommend further evaluation as needed; perform 12-lead EKGs and recognize basic arrhythmias
• Independently perform and interpret pulmonary function studies, arterial punctures, and maintain detailed records and documentation
• Assist with advanced procedures (bronchoscopy, trach care, chest tube placement, drainage via PleurX catheter, etc.)
• Handle endotracheal tube insertion/removal, set-up and operation of mechanical ventilators, and preventative equipment maintenance
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation under BLS/ACLS guidelines
• Facilitate seamless handoff communication and ensure timely, accurate charging and documentation

Qualifications:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Active state license (or eligibility)
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Previous experience in critical care and/or rehabilitation preferred
• Strong documentation, clinical assessment, and communication skills
