Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Current and valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license
• Proficiency in intensive respiratory care and patient transport
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Prior experience in critical care or rehabilitation settings preferred
• Ability to perform and interpret 12-lead EKGs, arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function tests (NIF, VC, etc.)
• Skilled in both invasive and non-invasive ventilation, chest physiotherapy, and tracheostomy care

Responsibilities:

• Deliver quality respiratory interventions, following physician-prescribed treatment plans
• Educate patients and families about procedures and home care upon discharge
• Operate ventilators, oxygen, aerosol, and nebulizer devices
• Perform airway management including suctioning, tracheostomy care, and endotracheal tube management
• Monitor oximetry, capnography, and assist with advanced diagnostic procedures (bronchoscopy, chest tube, etc.)
• Execute laboratory protocols when indicated, including specimen handling and quality controls
• Document all treatments and communicate effectively with the healthcare team during handoffs and shift changes
• Ensure equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and accurate respiratory therapy charging
• Provide emergency support including cardiopulmonary resuscitation
