Working in Vance brings the opportunity to thrive in a 42-bed unit specializing in the care of both acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Here, interprofessional collaboration is emphasized, with daily rounds including nurses, physicians, and support staff, enabling you to learn diverse clinical approaches and strengthen your resume. The facility features an 8-bed respiratory step-down unit, offering exposure to higher-acuity care and advanced treatment protocols. Embrace flexibility, as you may float to different departments and even nearby hospitals, further expanding your clinical skillset.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Flexible work week: choose either 36 or 48 hours.
  • Every other weekend required.
  • Holidays as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in nursing (required)
  • Valid State of Alabama or Compact RN license (NURSYS verified; no temp licenses)
  • Current AHA or Red Cross BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience (will consider 18 months with 1 year recent experience in this specialty)
  • Ability to float between units and facilities as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory issues, including those with pneumonia, COPD, and other lung diseases
  • Care for patients with GI conditions, diabetes, and post-surgical cases
  • Work closely with an interdisciplinary team in daily rounds
  • Provide support in the respiratory step-down unit for more complex cases
