Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care as ordered by physicians in compliance with clinical policies.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain respiratory equipment including ventilators, oxygen devices, Vapotherm, and PAP devices.
- Administer inhaled medications and prescribed gases safely.
- Perform arterial, capillary, and venous blood sampling; utilize ABG analyzers for blood gas analysis.
- Serve as a clinical resource by assisting with decision-making, assessments, treatment plans, and documentation.
- Evaluate patient history and perform accurate assessments to determine appropriate therapeutic interventions.
- Document all patient care aspects including assessments, therapies, procedures, medications, and equipment use.
- Verify physician orders in the electronic medical record system, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Support night shift duties within the respiratory care department as needed.
- Perform EKGs upon physician order or clinical request.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience.
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory care protocols and equipment.
- Ability to perform blood gas analysis and phlebotomy procedures.
- Excellent clinical judgment and patient assessment skills.
- Capability to follow healthcare policies and maintain compliance standards.
