Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Valid license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist

  • Knowledge of current respiratory care best practices
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Previous experience in an acute care or hospital environment is preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver respiratory therapy treatments and procedures per physician orders
  • Assess patient respiratory status and document findings
  • Participate in the development and implementation of care plans
  • Administer oxygen, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy as appropriate
  • Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and participate in code situations
  • Monitor and adjust ventilator support based on patient needs
  • Educate patients and families about respiratory care procedures and disease management
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
