Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) | Wyoming, Michigan

Provide advanced respiratory care to critically ill and rehabilitative patients at a specialized facility focused on delivering intensive respiratory therapy and patient transport services. This travel opportunity based in Wyoming, MI, offers the chance to assess, treat, and educate patients regarding respiratory health within the scope of your professional license, working with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilation, oxygen, and aerosol devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal), and monitor oxygenation with oximetry and capnography.
• Conduct 12-Lead EKGs, basic arrhythmia recognition, pulmonary function studies, and arterial punctures.
• Provide tracheostomy care including insertion and removal, and manage chest drainage systems.
• Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheal intubation using free-hand or video laryngoscope techniques.
• Maintain and operate complex ventilatory equipment including setup, self-tests, and ongoing monitoring.
• Document treatments and patient responses accurately, communicate effectively with physicians and team members, and adhere to protocols for lab testing and quality control.
• Perform BLS and ACLS cardiopulmonary resuscitation interventions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Experience in critical care or rehabilitative respiratory therapy preferred.
• Ability to work independently while managing complex respiratory equipment and patient care.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail in documentation.
• Familiarity with hospital laboratory practices related to respiratory care.
