Registered Respiratory Therapist - Crestwood, KY

Provide specialized respiratory care to a diverse patient population in a high-acuity hospital setting. As an integral member of the respiratory therapy team, you will support individuals experiencing a spectrum of complex cardiopulmonary conditions, including COPD, asthma, respiratory failure, burns, strokes, and traumas. This contract opportunity offers hands-on experience with advanced equipment and exposure to Level I trauma cases.

Schedule/Hours:

• Shifts: 0630-1900 or 1830-0700
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call commitments
• Holiday shifts are part of expectations
• Six-week schedule posted four weeks in advance

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience, including adult critical care
• Accepting first-time travelers with relevant experience in adult critical care
• Valid state license required
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) considered with approval
• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NRP preferred
• Experience assisting with intubation, bedside bronchoscopy/tracheostomy, and administering inhaled epoprostenol, ABGs, high-flow oxygen, and aerosol therapies
• Level I Trauma experience strongly preferred

Key Duties:

• Deliver respiratory interventions tailored to individual patient needs
• Float to units throughout the hospital as required (excluding NICU/ER training for travelers)
• Monitor patients, document care in Cerner EMR, and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
• Utilize Omnicell medication dispensing and advanced respiratory equipment, including Medfusion pumps, ventilators, and specialized BiPAP/CPAP systems
• Participate in orientation, including general NEO and department-specific onboarding with peer support

$1,575 - $1,714/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
