Qualifications and Experience:
- Active credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Previous hospital-based experience in respiratory therapy
- Strong knowledge of ventilator management, airway care, and blood gas analysis
- Exceptional assessment, troubleshooting, and documentation abilities
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct respiratory therapy treatments and interventions according to physician orders
- Conduct assessments of patient respiratory status and recommend appropriate care plans
- Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators, aerosol generators, and oxygen administration devices
- Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency code situations
- Provide patient and family education on respiratory care and home therapies as necessary
- Collaborate closely with providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Uphold hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control practices
