Qualifications / Requirements:
- Valid certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Proven clinical experience in respiratory therapy, especially within acute care or hospital environments
- Proficiency in respiratory procedures, including bronchial hygiene, arterial blood gas collection, ventilation management, and oxygen administration
- Familiarity with the latest respiratory equipment and safety protocols
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members
- Ability to work efficiently, make informed decisions quickly, and adapt to fast-paced settings
- Commitment to maintaining high standards for infection prevention and patient confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive respiratory assessment and therapy for diverse patient populations
- Monitor and manage mechanical ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP devices, and aerosol medications
- Provide emergency respiratory care during code situations or rapid response calls
- Review physician orders and implement prescribed respiratory procedures accurately
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and at-home therapies
- Accurately document all treatments, interventions, and patient responses in electronic medical records
- Participate actively in patient rounds and interdisciplinary team meetings
