An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Respiratory Therapist with strong clinical expertise to provide respiratory care within a dynamic healthcare environment. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. This contract position calls for a dedicated professional able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- Demonstrated proficiency in administering aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, airway management, and ventilation support
- Strong communication, patient assessment, and critical-thinking skills
- Experience with adult and pediatric patients preferred
- Previous experience in an acute care or hospital setting beneficial
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality respiratory therapy to patients with a variety of pulmonary conditions
- Manage mechanical ventilation, including setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Conduct bedside pulmonary function tests and provide oxygen therapy modalities
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to create and implement care plans
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory treatments and equipment use
- Accurately document patient progress and interventions in electronic health records
- Adhere to infection control procedures and facility policies at all times
