Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) required
- Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program
- Current registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Minimum one year of clinical experience in an acute care or hospital environment
- Strong knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology, and advanced respiratory modalities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and team interaction
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and administer respiratory care treatments and diagnostic procedures according to physician orders
- Deliver interventions such as mechanical ventilation management, airway care, and emergency respiratory support
- Perform arterial blood gas analysis and monitor patient response to therapy, adjusting treatments as necessary
- Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Accurately document all respiratory therapy assessments, procedures, and patient progress in medical records
- Adhere to hospital protocols, infection control practices, and safety guidelines
