Registered Respiratory Therapist - Rochester, NY

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) required
• Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program
• Current registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Minimum one year of clinical experience in an acute care or hospital environment
• Strong knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology, and advanced respiratory modalities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and team interaction

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and administer respiratory care treatments and diagnostic procedures according to physician orders
• Deliver interventions such as mechanical ventilation management, airway care, and emergency respiratory support
• Perform arterial blood gas analysis and monitor patient response to therapy, adjusting treatments as necessary
• Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, treatments, and disease management
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Accurately document all respiratory therapy assessments, procedures, and patient progress in medical records
• Adhere to hospital protocols, infection control practices, and safety guidelines
