Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) | Rochester, New York

As a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist, you’ll play an essential role in delivering high-quality respiratory care to patients with varying levels of acuity. Your background should include:

• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Active and valid state respiratory care license
• BLS certification; ACLS preferred
• Strong assessment, documentation, and critical thinking skills
• Previous experience in acute care or hospital settings

Key responsibilities include:

• Administering prescribed respiratory therapy treatments and procedures (such as oxygen therapy, ventilator management, and aerosol treatments)
• Monitoring patient progress, making respiratory care recommendations, and adjusting therapies as needed
• Collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Performing diagnostic tests, such as arterial blood gases and pulmonary function testing
• Educating patients and families on respiratory conditions and equipment use
• Ensuring accurate, timely documentation of care delivered and patient responses
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and well-equipped work environment by adhering to established protocols
