Required Qualifications:

• RPSGT or RRT preferred; will also consider respiratory therapists with appropriate credentials.
• Experience working in an AASM-accredited sleep center is highly desirable.
• For RRT candidates:
  • With RPSGT (or equivalent): Fully independent in technical and scoring duties.
  • With RST or RRT SDS: Can perform duties within their scope; no additional A-STEP/program training required.
  • Without RPSGT/RST/RRT SDS: Must complete A-STEP or an accredited polysomnography program within two years; technical duties permitted, but scoring requires direct supervision by a credentialed sleep specialist.
• Scoring duties without a recognized certification require direct supervision by a credentialed professional.
• Strong understanding of sleep study protocols and patient safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, calibrate, and operate equipment to monitor sleep and respiratory patterns.
• Conduct sleep studies, ensuring patient comfort and accurate data capture throughout the process.
• Score and interpret sleep studies according to established protocols, as credentialing permits.
• Document observations and report results for physician review.
• Ensure compliance with all clinical and safety guidelines in a patient-centered setting.
