Elevate your career as a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist in a dynamic and supportive large hospital setting. This 17-week contract offers valuable experience in a high-acuity environment, working alongside a collaborative team in ICU and ER units. The role requires expertise in advanced airway management, with RRTs serving as first-line responders for intubating adult and pediatric patients.
Schedule:
- 7p-7a, 12-hour night shifts
- Shift start times: 6:45 pm (clock in between 6:38 pm-6:46 pm)
- Team structure: Dedicated M-Thurs or F-Sun shifts
- Rotating holidays with permanent staff
- No on-call required
Qualifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist, licensed in Georgia
- Minimum of 2 years recent critical care experience (hospital of at least 300+ beds required)
- At least 1 completed travel contract
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required
- Comfortable and confident with intubations and high patient volumes
- Strict 75-mile radius requirement
- Experience caring for adults and pediatric patients; additional NRP certification if working in NICU
- Familiarity with Servo vents (U & I models) and proficiency in vent management, ABG interpretation, and treatment protocols
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all respiratory care duties including nebs, airway management, vapotherm, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG collection, bedside PFTs, CPT, and bronchs
- Place arterial lines and manage blood gases in ICU settings
- Intubate patients as first-line response for respiratory emergencies
- Manage daily caseloads averaging 13-15 patients per shift
- Adapt to fast-paced, high-workload conditions and effectively prioritize care
- Float between pediatrics and adult units as necessary
