Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Active certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Valid state Respiratory Care Practitioner license (or eligibility)
- Demonstrated experience in acute care settings such as hospitals or clinics
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to respond swiftly in emergencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with ventilators, airway management, and various respiratory equipment
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions or compromised lung function
- Perform diagnostic tests such as pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gases
- Manage ventilators and administer oxygen therapy in accordance with physician orders
- Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and at-home care plans
- Accurately document all clinical interventions and patient responses in records
- Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment according to protocols
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
