An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Respiratory Therapist ready to take on a contract role in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This position is ideal for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a strong background in critical care and neonatal intensive care, who is comfortable with advanced ventilator management and external patient transports.
Schedule:
- Nights
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week assignment
Qualifications:
- NBRC RRT certification required
- Current and valid BLS and ACLS certifications
- Active New York State Respiratory Therapy license
- Prior experience in critical care and NICU settings
- Proficiency with V60 BiPAP and 980 Puritan Bennett Ventilators
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system
- Experience participating in external patient transports
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care to patients in intensive and neonatal intensive care units
- Monitor, assess, and adjust ventilator settings using advanced devices such as V60 BiPAP and Puritan Bennett 980
- Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and complex clinical scenarios
- Accurately document care using EPIC EMR system
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
- Safely participate in patient transports outside the facility as required
