Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Respiratory Therapy license, with eligibility to practice in the state as required
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the NBRC
  • Proven experience in acute care, critical care, or hospital settings preferred
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, equipment, and protocols
  • BLS certification (required); ACLS and PALS certifications (preferred)
  • Exceptional patient assessment and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced, high-pressure instances

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as administering respiratory treatments, managing airways, and operating life-support equipment
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document patients’ respiratory status and treatment responses
  • Collaborate with physicians and medical staff to develop and modify care plans
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, therapies, and prevention strategies
  • Maintain equipment and ensure strict adherence to safety and infection control standards
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations requiring respiratory intervention
