Respiratory Therapist | Bristol, Connecticut

A contract opportunity is available for a skilled professional with expertise as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist. This role calls for a detail-oriented clinician who excels in a dynamic healthcare setting, providing critical respiratory care to patients of all ages.

Schedule:

• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Every other weekend required

Qualifications:

• Valid credentials as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
• Previous experience in acute care or hospital respiratory therapy strongly desired
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and remain calm under pressure
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

• Assess, monitor, and deliver respiratory therapy modalities as ordered by providers
• Administer treatments, such as oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy
• Perform diagnostic tests including arterial blood gases and pulmonary function tests
• Respond urgently to codes and rapid response calls, ensuring optimal airway management
• Educate patients and families regarding treatments and therapy plans
• Document all therapy provided, patient responses, and relevant observations in the medical record
